Student Projects Reflect Impact of Choice at 2024 Voices of Leadership
Milwaukee, Wis. (Nov. 8, 2024) Mount Mary’s annual Voices of Leadership event, which takes place Nov. 14 introduces campus to a groundbreaking woman leader and provides an opportunity for student learning.

Esser’s keynote speech will focus on the magnitude of our choices on our lives and the world around us. In anticipation of the event, students created projects that incorporate the themes from her presentation. The event will showcase student projects from dietetics, interior architecture and design, studio art, writing, fashion and independent study.
- Dietetics: Students created a food business on campus selling a variety of sweet and savory pockets.
- Interior Architecture and Design: Students conceptualized plans for a student union, incorporating customizable options to respond to needs as they arise.
- Painting: Students created a series of paintings based around different artistic choice; these pieces influenced the direction of subsequent work.
- Fashion Design: Students created designs around the theme of choice and will realize the garments for inclusion in the 2025 CREO Student Fashion show.
- College Writing: Students explored their relationship to information in podcast format.
- Arches Student Publication: Students interviewed alumni, discussing the pivotal decisions that have shaped their lives.
- Independent Study: This student and faculty collaboration created a database of resources for external funding sources, made available to all students through their academic course management system.
