Stories of Transformation in Milwaukee: Well Moments
Milwaukee, May 3, 2026 – 15 years ago, fresh out of college, Ashley Thomas tried to hide in the corner of a prayer group at an organization on 26th and Capitol that her church sent her to connect with. She encountered the unexpected as she was met with authenticity, community, and an opportunity to see her own worth. As a Division 1 athlete at UW-Madison, Ashley was formerly defined by her successes in basketball; in Milwaukee, Ashley began finding her identity elsewhere.
Today, as the CEO of Hope Street, pastor, author, and winner of the 2023 Women of Faith Award, Ashley Thomas is releasing her story of transformation on Milwaukee’s Near Northside.
With a similar cadence to Greg Boyle’s Tattoos on the Heart, Ashley’s book, Well Moments: Stories Inside a Greenhouse for People, shares Ashley’s story as she intersects with men, women, and children in search of restoration and hope.
