Statement on the case of Yessenia Ruano
Alderwoman JoCasta Zamarripa February 14, 2025
Today I accompanied a Milwaukeean, Yessenia Ruano, to the ICE Milwaukee field office for a scheduled appointment.
Yessenia is a mother and a teacher who works every day to educate and support our youth. I greatly appreciate the work that Yessenia’s lawyers did on her behalf, today.
I stand with all of the people of the City of Milwaukee, whether they are 5th generation U.S. citizens or undocumented immigrants. If you live in the City of Milwaukee, then you are a Milwaukeean and I am honored to serve you.NOTE: This press release was submitted to Urban Milwaukee and was not written by an Urban Milwaukee writer.
