Statement on Lame Duck Deal’s Failure to Pass

By - May 13th, 2026 10:42 pm

MADISON, Wis.- Rep. Anderson issued the following response to the failed Evers-Vos-LeMahieu Lame Duck Deal:

“The people of Wisconsin need real relief and our schools need real solutions. Unfortunately, this proposal fell short. Many wouldn’t have received the full rebate being advertised, $300 for single filers or $600 for joint filers, and some wouldn’t have received a rebate at all. Nearly half of the money labeled as education funding also would never have reached a classroom.”

“Wisconsin needs a governing majority focused on solving problems, not last-minute political gimmicks. Three lame ducks seemed more focused on going out with a bang than producing a meaningful plan that could actually pass and deliver real results for Wisconsin families.”
