Statement of Gratitude for Police After Recent Incidents
WAUWATOSA, Wis. — On Tuesday morning, a man with multiple outstanding warrants led police on two vehicle pursuits, stole a marked police squad car, and injured four Wauwatosa Police officers before being taken into custody following a crash and foot pursuit.
In addition, on Saturday night, Brookfield Police officers responded courageously after being fired upon when responding to a vehicle crash on Barker Road in Brookfield.
In reaction to these incidents, Senator Rob Hutton (R-Brookfield) released the following statement:
“I am deeply grateful for the courage and professionalism shown by all police officers involved in these two incidents who once again put themselves in harm’s way to protect the public. Their quick action and selfless dedication prevented these volatile situations from endangering innocent people. Our community owes law enforcement a debt of gratitude, not just now, but every day.
“Patti and I are praying for the rapid recovery of the injured Wauwatosa officers. Our communities must continue to stand firmly with law enforcement who risk their safety every single day they go to work keeping our neighborhoods safe.”
