State Representative Evan Goyke Announces his Candidacy for Re-Election to the 18th Assembly District
State Representative Evan Goyke (D-Milwaukee) today announced his candidacy for re-election to the 18th Assembly District in Milwaukee.
“It has been my greatest honor to serve as the Representative for the 18th Assembly District. I am as excited to run and serve today as I was in my first election,” Goyke said.
“Now more than ever Wisconsin needs effective, serious legislators who can get things done. That’s the record I am running on. During my time in the Legislature I’ve prioritized working across the aisle without compromising my beliefs. This has led to successful initiatives on criminal justice reform, addressing blighted properties, and returning as many resources to our community as possible,” Goyke said.
“I promise to continue that work and those results for the 18th District, and I ask for your vote.” Goyke said.
The 18th Assembly district is one of Wisconsin’s smallest, but most diverse districts, encompassing vibrant neighborhoods on Milwaukee’s North and West sides. Representative Goyke was first elected to the Assembly in 2012 and currently serves on the Joint Committee on Finance as well as the Corrections and Local Government committees. He is married to attorney Gabriela Leija and the two live in the Historic Concordia Neighborhood on Milwaukee’s near west side.
