State Medical Examining Board Approves News Education Tracking Tool
Move aims to improve process of tracking continuing education for WI physicians
Madison — The Wisconsin Medical Examining Board (MEB) and the Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services (DSPS) are now working with CE Broker to track continuing education for Wisconsin licensed physicians.
“We think the switch to CE Broker and its platform can help simplify and streamline continuing education for our state’s licensed physicians,” said Dr. Clarence Chou, Chairperson of the MEB. “We believe they will find this tool useful, and we encourage them to offer any suggestions they have on making it work better.”
Using this new tool will not cost Wisconsin physicians anything. They can sign up for a free CE Broker Basic Account and get access to everything needed to track continuing education and stay in compliance with requirements.
Key features of a free Basic Account:
- Digital Tracking – Access complete continuing education course history, store certificates, and check compliance status anytime.
- Course Search – Easily find every course needed to successfully complete license renewal requirements.
- Easy Reporting – Most education providers will automatically report course completions to CE Broker. Physicians can also easily self-report any missing credits by uploading proof of completion.
- Helpful Support – CE Broker provides a team of experts, available Monday-Friday from 8am – 8pm EST via live chat, email, and phone.
“One of the main benefits of using CE Broker is the audit functionality,” said DSPS Secretary-designee Dan Hereth. “If you are ever selected for audit, it will be very easy to check if required continuing education is reflected in CE Broker.”
“We thought it was important to offer the no-cost option, but we also thought it important that there be access to a higher level of service and tracking tools for those who want to choose that,” said Dr. Chou.
DSPS provides administrative support to the MEB and other boards governing licensed professionals in Wisconsin.
