MILWAUKEE, NOVEMBER 13, 2017 – Snifters Tapas and Spirits will partner with local Walker’s Point restaurants to host the first annual Feed the Hungry Community Meal on Wednesday, November 22nd from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. In an effort to support philanthropy and address hunger in the Walker’s Point neighborhood, local eateries will team up to provide a holiday meal for individuals and families in need in Milwaukee.

The event, to be held at Snifters, will be open to the public and anyone in need of a warm Thanksgiving meal is invited to attend. Individuals interested in receiving a holiday meal at the Feed the Hungry event are advised to arrive early, as supplies are limited.

“We’re very blessed to operate out of one of the most diverse and colorful neighborhoods in Milwaukee,” said Julio Maldonado, Partner and Co-Owner at Snifters. “Small businesses and the people they employ are a huge part of the culture of an area. Our goal is to bring everyone together and help create a strong foundation of giving back in Walker’s Point. At Snifters, we encourage our staff to volunteer twelve hours of their time annually, and happily provide connections with our nonprofit contacts throughout the city.”

Each restaurant will contribute food and volunteers to the charity event; with food offerings centered on the traditional fare of each restaurant and inspired by the Thanksgiving holiday. Participating establishments include Snifters, Fuel Cafe Walker’s Point, Lykkle Jamaica, Screaming Tuna and La Fuente Restaurant.

“We see unity in our neighborhood as a major asset to businesses and consumers alike,” said Paul Ward, General Manager at Fuel Cafe Walker’s Point. “When local businesses come together to build a culture of compassion, it highlights the broader potential of the city of Milwaukee and showcases Walker’s Point as a valuable place for commerce and recreation”
