Sixth Annual Milwaukee Gospel Jubilee

Milwaukee, WI – February 15, 2019 – Milwaukee Gospel Jubilee, Milwaukee’s signature showcase of local gospel talent, returns again for its 6th joyous year on Friday, March 8, 2019 at 7:30 p.m. (Doors open at 6:30 p.m.) This year’s event will be held at the Marcus Center for the Performing Art’s Wilson Theater at Vogel Hall. Milwaukee Gospel Jubilee brings together generations of Milwaukee’s best gospel performers for a showcase of immense talent and a night of jubilant celebration. The event benefits Progressive Community Health Centers, with all proceeds from ticket sales supporting the agency’s work to increase awareness and vital health care access to underserved Milwaukeeans.

The gospel talent line up for this year’s Jubilee will include appearances from these popular Milwaukee gospel performers:

Holy Hill Praise Dancers

Sounds of Faith

Arias Walker

Spiritual Tones

Queens of Harmony

Voices of Faith

Community volunteer and notable Milwaukee gospel singer Julia Prescott will emcee this year’s event.

Tamyra Trice, a Physician Assistant at Progressive Community Health Centers and member of Voices of Faith, commented, “This will be the 5th year that I have performed in the Milwaukee Gospel Jubilee with my group Voices of Faith. It’s been exciting to watch as the event continues to get bigger and better! We’re particularly excited to bring the show to the Marcus Center’s Wilson Theater at Vogel Hall this year. It is an honor to participate in something that not only spreads the inspiring message of the Gospel, but also helps those in need. Having worked as a healthcare provider at Progressive Community Health Centers for the last 12 years, I see firsthand how the funds raised at the Jubilee positively affect the lives of patients in our local community.”

Added Progressive Health Center Board Member, Milwaukee Gospel Jubilee co-founder and respected Milwaukee musician John Sieger, “I got involved with gospel music in a roundabout way. A friend was playing bass and asked me to help out. The group was one of Milwaukee’s best, The Masonic Wonders. I was pre-sold on the music – it’s the basis of everything I love – but I was surprised by the communal nature at the services. The hat often went around for members who were in need and the power of the music was (and is) a healing force. When I joined the board of Progressive Community Health Centers, I was struck by the similarities of their missions. Together these two great institutions minister to body and spirit for people most in need. This show does more than raise money, it’s guaranteed to lift your spirits and may even elevate the roof of Vogel Hall a little bit! So please join us for another electrifying performance by Milwaukee’s great homegrown gospel groups – you’ll be glad you did.”

Milwaukee Gospel Jubilee is made possible through generous support from the following sponsors: Froedtert Health & the Medical College of Wisconsin, Aurora Health Care, BMO Harris Bank, Colectivo Coffee, MHS Health Wisconsin, Black Shoe Hospitality, Children’s Community Health Plan, Hall Render: Killian, Heath & Lyman, Hunzinger Construction Company, iCare, Milwaukee Chamber Theatre, Molina Healthcare and My Choice Family Care.

Tickets for Milwaukee Gospel Jubilee are on sale now for $25 each and can be purchased through the Marcus Center Ticket Office, online at www.marcuscenter.org or in person at 929 N. Water Street in downtown Milwaukee or by phone (414) 273-7206 or toll free at (888) 612-3500.

About Milwaukee Gospel Jubilee
