Shots Fired at MPD officers

On Tuesday, June 2, 2020, at approximately 9:13 p.m., MPD officers responded to a ShotSpotter call on the 2000 block of West Center Street. Upon arrival, officers heard several shots being fired. As officers approached the area they heard more shots and encountered a subject who was shooting a gun in the direction of the officers. One officer returned fire; however, the suspect fled and has not yet been taken into custody.

Four suspects who were firing shots in the air were arrested. Officers recovered several guns and over 60 casings from the scene. No officers were injured and at this time, there are no reports of injuries related to this incident.

Milwaukee Police arrested two 41-year-old men, a 49-year-old man and a 34-year-old man in connection to this incident. Criminal charges will be referred to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office in the upcoming days. Milwaukee Police continues to seek an unknown suspect who fired shots at officers.
