Brookfield, WI—Today, Congressman Jim Sensenbrenner (WI-05) offered the following statement after the Trump administration announced its proposed Affordable Clean Energy rule:

Rep. Sensenbrenner: “The Obama administration’s so-called ‘Clean Power Plan’ was an egregious example of government overregulation that harmed Wisconsin energy consumers and put workers and manufacturers at a disadvantage. The Trump administration is right to roll back these expensive regulations which would increase consumer electric bills and increase the cost of products manufactured in Wisconsin making us much less competitive to domestic and foreign competition.”

He also added, “Wisconsin is heavily dependent on electricity generated from coal fire power plants.”

Join the 21st century, Rep. Jim, and recognize that coal is killing us. Don’t let yourself be a toady of Trump and all of his reactionary repeals of Obama’s forward looking proposals.
