WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Senator Tammy Baldwin (D-WI) announced she will serve as the new Chair of the Appropriations Subcommittee on Labor, Health and Human Services, Education, and Related Agencies.

“I am honored to serve as Chair of the Appropriations Subcommittee on Labor, Health and Human Services, Education, and Related Agencies and get to work improving the lives of Wisconsin’s working families. Our work will reach communities across our state and country, from fighting the opioid and substance use disorder epidemic, to tackling our mental health crisis. We will work to ensure our workers have the training and skills they need to earn a good-paying job in today’s economy,” said Senator Baldwin. “I am excited to work with both Democrats and Republicans to ensure all kids have access to high quality, affordable child care and early childhood education so their parents can get back into the workforce. I am thrilled that Wisconsin’s hard-working families will have a seat at this decision-making table. Carrying on the legacy of former Wisconsin Congressman David Obey, who led the House subcommittee during his tenure in Congress, I look forward to rolling up my sleeves to deliver for the Badger State and move our country forward.”
