“Our educators at the Milwaukee Teachers’ Education Association deserve a contract that respects the incredibly important work they do to set our kids up for success. For decades, Republicans in the state legislature have undermined our public schools and prevented them from serving our kids. Now, Milwaukee Public Schools and MTEA are being pitted against each other as the school budget is facing a deficit. Our educators need to pay their bills and feed their families.
“Schools around the state face educator shortages because state budgets have failed or decades to live up the constitutional promise that every kid gets a great public education. I have a plan to end these cynical cycles that lead to contentious contract negotiations and divisive referendums – as governor, we’ll implement my plan and deliver the best public schools in the nation.”
