WASHINGTON – Today, U.S. Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wis.) announced that he will be donating his paychecks to The Joseph Project for the duration of the federal government shutdown. The Joseph Project, a faith-based jobs initiative, provides a week-long job preparation training program that links participants with Wisconsin employers.

“Since the U.S. Constitution requires that I receive pay, even during a shutdown, I’ll be donating my paychecks to The Joseph Project. Every day the shutdown continues, the check gets a little bigger – compliments of Chuck Schumer,” Sen. Johnson said.

Just remember. Any political person, be it a Senator, Press Secretary, or President…that donates his/her salary is richie rich rich rich. Most regular people cannot. I have to laugh at the people that say how noble such an act for a person to do something that millions of Americans could never afford to do, like it is a gift. And don’t forget the advantages of those tax write offs that they will get for it…to pay even less taxes… even when given to a good cause.
