School Board Director Tatiana Joseph Endorses Justin Bielinski for 8th District Alderman
I have the utmost respect for Director Joseph and the work she does both as a professor at UWM and as an elected official serving Milwaukee’s south side.
December 21, 2015 – Today I am honored to announce that School Board Director Tatiana Joseph has endorsed my candidacy for 8th District Alderman. I have the utmost respect for Director Joseph and the work she does both as a professor at UWM and as an elected official serving Milwaukee’s south side. She has consistently championed inclusive solutions to problems facing our students, and has been a fervent ally of transparent, public education for all children.
As part of her endorsement, Director Joseph had this to say:
“I support Justin because he understands the importance of investing in our young people. Supporting public education, expanding recreation and enrichment opportunities beyond the classroom, and bringing viable jobs to our city is how we can all build toward a better future. His background as both an educator and a mental health professional give him the patience and perseverance needed to tackle the complex issues facing our city. I look forward to working with him in the future.”
I am proud to have Ms Joseph as my school board representative, and am eager to work with her to provide improved educational opportunities for our youth, and to help protect our public schools from the unwanted and harmful interference from suburban state legislators and the privatization movement. As someone who has worked with youth for nearly 15 years, and has worked for youth-serving organizations since 1996, I understand how important our young people are. As a proud product of public schools from grade school through my Master’s Degree at UWM, and as a future public school parent, I want to ensure all children have access to a great public education for now and future generations.

The Milwaukee Fire and Police Commission (FPC) is a great idea, with increasingly poor results.
Perhaps my opponent is right, but perhaps he's not.
