Ryan Braun To Be Inducted Into Brewers Walk of Fame This Sunday, July 28
MILWAUKEE – Ryan Braun, the Brewers all-time home run leader, six-time All-Star, 2007 National League Rookie of the Year and 2011 National League MVP, will be inducted into the Brewers Walk of Fame, one of the Club’s highest honors, this Sunday, July 28 in a pregame ceremony at American Family Field. Braun played his entire 14-year Major League career with the Milwaukee Brewers from 2007-20 and is among the franchise leaders in nearly every offensive category.
Braun will be joined by Brewers Chairman and Principal Owner Mark Attanasio and fan favorites Mike Cameron, Bill Hall, J.J. Hardy, Corey Hart and Rickie Weeks from the 2008 team, a team that holds a special place in fans’ hearts as it made history by taking the team to its first postseason appearance in 26 years. Also joining is Mike Moustakas from the 2018 division title team and former Brewers coach Ed Sedar.
Fans will have the opportunity to hear from Ryan directly during a special pre-game ceremony, which will also include remarks from Mike Cameron and former General Manager Doug Melvin, who drafted Braun. Braun will throw a ceremonial first pitch surrounded by his former teammates before the Crew takes on the Miami Marlins at 1:10 p.m.
Several of the alumni visiting that day will participate in Autograph Sunday, courtesy of UW Credit Union, a tradition at American Family Field where fans 14 and under are invited to the seats by the warning track from 11:50 – 12:10 p.m. to receive an autograph. Autographs are limited to one per child and full-sized bats are not allowed.
The Walk of Fame commemorates the greatest names in Milwaukee baseball history with a granite-shaped home plate set in the ground outside of American Family Field. Braun will become the 23rd individual to receive the honor since the stadium opened in 2001. Members of the Walk of Fame are elected by Wisconsin media members and Brewers executives and must receive a minimum of 65 percent of the votes. Braun received 80 percent of the vote.
A special pre-game ceremony will take place on the field at 1 p.m.
