Ron Johnson Pushes Self-Serving, Anti-Wisconsin Agenda By Voting To Jeopardize U.S. Economy
MADISON, Wis. — Today, Senator Ron Johnson continued to put his self-serving agenda ahead of the needs of Wisconsinites by voting against raising the debt ceiling, which would imperil hard-earned Medicare and Social Security benefits for hundreds of thousands of Wisconsin seniors, and throw our economy into chaos, potentially costing thousands of jobs and devastating the livelihoods of hardworking Wisconsin families.
In response to Senator Johnson’s vote, Democratic Party of Wisconsin Senate Communications Advisor Philip Shulman released the following statement:
“Senator Ron Johnson continues to put his self-serving agenda first as he is willing to gamble away Wisconsinites’ Social Security, Medicare, and jobs. Senator Johnson has proven that he’s only in Washington to enrich himself and his biggest donors, and Wisconsinites pay the price.”
