Rep. Subeck Blasts Joint Finance Committee Republicans for Shortsighted Move to Cut Alliant Energy Center Funding
"The Republicans’ decision to eliminate funding to expand the Alliant Energy Center is shortsighted and puts politics above the best interests of our state."
MADISON – On Tuesday, Republicans on the Joint Committee on Finance voted to pass a capital budget plan that did not include Governor Evers’s proposed $30 million investment for expansion of the Alliant Energy Center. Representative Lisa Subeck (D-Madison) released the following statement in response.
“The Republicans’ decision to eliminate funding to expand the Alliant Energy Center is shortsighted and puts politics above the best interests of our state. Governor Evers’s proposed investment would expand the types of businesses and events the Alliant Energy Center can attract, increasing Wisconsin’s prominence on the national stage and bringing more resources into our state. Republicans’ disregard for Dane County jeopardizes an opportunity that would benefit the entire state of Wisconsin.”
