MADISON – Today, the Wisconsin State Assembly unanimously passed Assembly Joint Resolution (AJR) 19, recognizing and celebrating the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh Sesquicentennial. Representative Gordon Hintz (D-Oshkosh) released the following statement regarding the passage of the resolution:

“I am thrilled the Wisconsin State Assembly voted to commemorate the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh sesquicentennial. Since its founding 150 years ago, UW Oshkosh has served as a beacon of learning, leadership, opportunity and community, and has become a truly irreplaceable part of the Oshkosh community and of northeastern Wisconsin. I am proud to represent UW Oshkosh in the Assembly, and excited for what the future has in store for this outstanding institution of higher education.

“As the legislature meets over the next several weeks and months, I urge my colleagues to continue UW Oshkosh’s legacy of excellence and contribution to our state by approving funding for the Clow Hall Phase II renovation as part of the 2021-23 capital budget. I also encourage the legislature to enact Governor Evers’ Badger Bounceback budget, which includes investments that will strengthen UW Oshkosh and maintain affordability and accessibility for its students.”
