Rep. Goyke Votes to Invest in Milwaukee’s Future
“I believe in Milwaukee and I’m all in.”
MADISON – State Representative Evan Goyke (D-Milwaukee) released the following statement after today’s vote in the Assembly to approve the Milwaukee Bucks arena proposal:
“I believe in Milwaukee and I’m all in.
I am proud of my vote to support the Milwaukee Bucks arena proposal today in the State Assembly. I heard from a number of constituents on this issue and would like to thank them for their engagement. The contacts to my office were overwhelmingly in support of this proposal.
I cannot imagine a Milwaukee without the Bucks nor my community losing the opportunity for this critical investment. However, this proposal is about more than the Bucks. It’s about progress. It’s about momentum. It’s about a confidence and a feeling of pride in our community and the direction that it is headed. Milwaukee’s momentum is real. We see it and feel it every day.
The Buck’s presence, and continued commitment to Milwaukee, will bolster the City’s ability to continue to attract and retain bright young minds. Many of our residents will help build it and ensure its success for years to come. It will continue our City’s movement towards a brighter future.
With work in the State Legislature complete on this project, my commitment and my promise is to help my constituents realize the economic opportunity it presents. It’s time to get to work. Literally.
I believe in Milwaukee and I’m all in.”
