Racine Farmers Market on the Lake Opens This Saturday for the 2026 Season
The wait is over — the Racine Farmers Market on the Lake Opening Day is this Saturday, May 9, bringing fresh produce, handmade goods, local food, live music, and community energy back to downtown Racine at Festival Park.
Opening Day takes place Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. along the lakefront in downtown Racine, where shoppers can experience one of Wisconsin’s soon to be favorite open-air markets.
“This market is more than a place to shop — it will be a new Saturday tradition that brings the entire community together,” said Market Manager Dawn Carrillo. “Opening Day is always exciting because it celebrates local farmers, small businesses, and the start of an amazing season on the lakefront. And Festival Park was made for a market! ”
Shoppers are encouraged to arrive early for the best selection of spring produce, plants, and specialty items. Additional farmers and vendors will be joining throughout the month of May.
After the market, families can explore downtown businesses, grab breakfast or lunch, and enjoy views of Lake Michigan. Free insulated market bags will also be handed out on Opening Day while supplies last — perfect for keeping produce crisp and frozen items cold while shopping each week. Kids activities, FoodShare match program and a Taste It Tent are just a few of the free programs that make this market a destination every Saturday. “Next week we will have a petting zoo with baby goats.” Carrillo explained. “It’s always changing with new activities for all ages.”
The market proudly supports local agriculture and small businesses while creating a welcoming gathering place for residents and visitors throughout southeastern Wisconsin. Partnerships with organizations including Educators Credit Union, Martin Law Office, Aurora Health Care, DoubleTree by Hilton, Racine County Food Bank, and Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin have helped transform the market into much more than a place to buy groceries — a source of healthy food access, a support system for local farmers and families, and a Saturday tradition that means something different and special to every person who visits.
The Racine Farmers Market on the Lake 2026 Season will run every Saturday through October at Festival Park.
