Quick Action by MPD Leads to Apprehension of Carjacking Suspects

Statement of Alderman Mark A. Borkowski November 9, 2021

Last night, in the 11th Aldermanic District, a woman who was picking up her child was the subject of a carjacking. Two suspects who were brandishing guns stole the woman’s vehicle along with her other belongings, and as a bank manager, among her stolen goods were the keys to a bank.

The Milwaukee Police Department worked swiftly to ensure the bank was secure, and later in the evening officers from District 5 engaged in a vehicle pursuit with the suspects and apprehended four juveniles. The carjacking victim’s property was recovered, as was additional property from two previous incidents of robbery on the East Side. Thankfully, no one was harmed in these incidents.

The timely and cooperative work from officers in Districts 5 and 6 needs to be acknowledged, as it is this great teamwork and effort that will help ensure our city is safe.
