The Public Works Committee on Wednesday (May 8) will discuss plans for parking and traffic controls in the Historic Third Ward during Summerfest and other major events at Henry Maier Festival Park, as well as possible enhanced lakefront streetcar service to assist commuters during those events.

Public Works Committee Chair Alderman Robert J. Bauman said the Department of Public Works will have representatives at Wednesday’s meeting to discuss issues related to signage and regulations in place on streets adjacent to the lakefront festival park, and especially within the Historic Third Ward.

The committee will also take up legislation authored by Alderman Bauman directing the Department of Public Works to develop a plan for enhanced streetcar service from the Milwaukee Intermodal Station to the Couture during major lakefront festivals. Please go here to see the full committee agenda.

Wednesday’s committee meeting will start at 9:00 a.m. in room 301-B at City Hall, 200 E. Wells St., and will be televised live on the City Channel (channel 25 on Spectrum Cable and channel 99 on AT&T U-Verse in the City of Milwaukee) and via streaming video on the city website at www.city.milwaukee.gov/Channel25.
