Pocan to Bring Emmett Fisher, WI Farmer, as State of the Union Guest
Fisher, a farmer on Medicaid in Western Wisconsin, has seen more than $30k of Federal Grants Frozen from Trump’s & Musk’s DOGE Cuts
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Representative Mark Pocan (WI-02) announced that he will bring Emmett Fisher, a farmer from Hager City, Wisconsin who owns and operates Oxheart Farm that relies on federal grants. A self employed farmer, Emmet is on Medicaid to be able to afford healthcare and is concerned what the House Republican budget might mean for him and his family.
Emmett can speak about:
- Medicaid
- Trump’s claims that no funding for farmers would be frozen, yet he currently has two frozen funds he relies on
- The Farmer’s Union town hall, where all elected officials from the area were invited, yet not a single Republican showed up
- Federal firings in WI and effects on families, including a suicide of a fired employee
