Packers Announce Roster Moves
The Green Bay Packers claimed DL Jonathan Ford off waivers from the Chicago Bears, signed CB Shemar Bartholomew (shuh-MAR) and CB Jaylin Simpson from the practice squad to the active roster, signed RB Damien Martinez to the practice squad, placed CB c and DL Jordon Riley on injured reserve, and released DL Quinton Bohanna (bo-HAN-ah). The transactions were announced Tuesday by General Manager Brian Gutekunst.
Martinez (6-0, 217), a rookie out of the University of Miami (Fla.), was selected by the Seattle Seahawks in the seventh round (No. 223 overall) of the 2025 NFL Draft and spent the early part of the season on the Seahawks’ practice squad. In college, he played two seasons at Oregon State (2022-23), where he earned All-Pac-12 first-team honors both seasons and was selected to the 247Sports True Freshman All-America team in 2022. Martinez played for Miami in 2023, earning All-ACC honorable mention after posting the first 1,000-yard rushing season by a Hurricane running back since 2016. He will wear No. 26 for the Packers.
