October Local Employment and Unemployment Data Released
MADISON – The Department of Workforce Development (DWD) today released the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) estimates of unemployment and employment statistics for Wisconsin metropolitan areas, major cities, and counties in Wisconsin for October 2020.
In brief, the non-seasonally adjusted data for Wisconsin shows:
- Metropolitan Statistical Areas: Preliminary October 2020 unemployment rates increased in all of Wisconsin’s 12 metro areas over the month. The largest increase of 0.5 percent occurred in the Oshkosh-Neenah and Racine metro areas.
- Municipalities: Preliminary October 2020 unemployment rates decreased in three of Wisconsin’s 34 largest cities over the month. The largest decrease of 0.8 percent occurred in the city of Superior.
- Counties: Preliminary October 2020 unemployment rates declined in eight of Wisconsin’s 72 counties over the month. The largest decrease of 0.6 percent occurred Douglas County. Price County‘s unemployment rate declined 0.1 percent from October 2019.
