Nonprofit Professionals Organization Seeking Nominations for Sector Leaders, Graduate Students

Awardees, Scholarship Recipients to be honored at annual March event

MILWAUKEE, Wisconsin (December 14, 2020) — The Young Nonprofit Professionals Network-Greater Milwaukee Chapter (YNPN MKE) is seeking nominations for community members who work, volunteer, and pursue education in Milwaukee’s nonprofit sector. Individuals are encouraged to nominate transformational, passionate peers, or themselves, by February 5th, 2021. Winners will be announced late February, and honored at YNPN’s virtual Annual Awards Ceremony on March 25th, 2021.

In 2016, YNPN MKE established The Ilona Nicole Memorial Scholarship to support nonprofit leadership pursuit of advanced graduate-level degrees. In honor of the 5-year anniversary of this annual $1,000 scholarship, this year an additional $500 scholarship will be awarded to a sector employee pursuing professional development. These awards are in memory of Ilona Nicole Gonzalez, a sector change-maker who was just starting her career when she unexpectedly passed away.

In addition to supporting the professional development of nonprofit professionals, YNPN MKE celebrates the leaders in the Greater Milwaukee community through the Emerging Leader and Distinguished Leader awards. Last year’s winners were Leen Bnyat, Child Nutrition Program Organizer for Hunger Task Force, and Brad Schlaikowski, Co-Founder and Executive Director of Courage MKE, respectively.
