Nominees are being sought for the 2013 Frank P. Zeidler Public Service Award, according to Alderman Robert J. Bauman.
The honor is awarded annually recognizing city residents who best exemplify Frank P. Zeidler’s legacy of social justice and civic accomplishment. The award was established by the Common Council for city residents with the exception of elected officials.
Alderman Bauman, a member of the award’s selection committee, said he hopes individuals and organizations will once again submit nominations for the award. “It is important that we, as a city, recognize the contributions of those who give of themselves for the greater good of the community and our society,” he said.
Chaired by Milwaukee attorney Art Heitzer, the selection committee also includes Alderman Bauman, Jack Murtaugh, historian John Gurda, and a representative of the Frank P. Zeidler Center for Public Discussion, Shelley Bruehling.
Nomination forms are now available on the city website (go to http://www.city.milwaukee.gov and scroll down the main page to find the form), or by contacting Joanna
