Neubauer Campaign Releases Biographical Video

Campaign’s first ad demonstrates candidate’s values and broad support

RACINE — Judge Lisa Neubauer’s campaign for Supreme Court began its paid media campaign today with the release of a digital biographical video. The ad will run on various platforms, including YouTube and Facebook. The ad shares Judge Neubauer’s story of being a plaintiff in a civil rights lawsuit that stopped police departments around the country from indiscriminately strip-searching women. The ad can be seen here.

Neubauer’s campaign also announced today it has raised more than $1 million since announcing her candidacy last summer. The campaign has continued to rack up endorsements from those who know both candidates best, including more than 325 current & retired judges from across Wisconsin, more than 80 Republican and Democratic elected sheriffs and district attorneys, and hundreds of local and state elected officials and community leaders.

This video release comes while Neubauer’s opponent faces renewed criticism for radical anti-LGBTQ views, with a media report yesterday indicating he has received multiple payments over the court of years from an organization designated as a hate group by the Southern Poverty Law Center, which tracks neo-Nazi and other hate-based organizations across North America. This follows previous reports that detailed a blog in which he compared same-gender relationships to relationships between people and animals, and news that a school that he founded discriminates against LGBTQ families.

“Chief Judge Lisa Neubauer has earned broad bipartisan support from every corner of Wisconsin because she is fair, impartial, and independent,” said Tyler Hendricks, campaign manager. “Wisconsinites are sick of partisan, politicized judges with an agenda, and that’s why on April 2, we will vote for the candidate with more experience, the right temperament, and the record of independence our state demands – Judge Lisa Neubauer.”

After joining the Court of Appeals, Judge Neubauer was elected in 2008 and re-elected in 2014, and has served as Chief Judge since 2015. She had almost two decades of experience as a litigation attorney at Foley & Lardner before joining the appellate court and also served as a law clerk for Judge Barbara Crabb, then-Chief Judge of the United States District Court, Western District of Wisconsin. Judge Neubauer lives in Racine with her husband, Jeff, and they are the proud parents of three children.
