Custer, Wisconsin — 2/21/20 The Midwest Renewable Energy Association (MREA), CREATE Portage County, and the AIR Project have selected the final artists who will showcase their work in a collaborative project debuting this summer. The event, Illuminate: An Upcycled Wearable Art Runway Show will feature four solo artists and one duet, all of whom will be creating pieces of wearable art crafted from items typically identified as waste, in an effort to expand education on societal waste reduction. The talented artists participating in the project include Liv Aanrud of Pasadena, CA, Yuliya Bay of Stevens Point, WI, Valerie Draves of Madison, WI, Steph Jones of Stevens Point, WI, and Laura and Cambria Sinclair of De Pere, WI.

“We’re excited to invite talented artists to showcase their creative expression in a way that draws attention to the urgency of addressing societal waste. Through Illuminate, we are actively advocating for each individual’s personal responsibility in ensuring a bright future by reflecting upon their own waste-related actions,” say Illuminate’s Co-Director and Choreographer, Pamela Luedtke.
