Movie in the Garden, Neighborhood Rummage to take place in the Garden District this weekend

Alderman Scott Spiker invites residents to participate in multiple events happening this weekend in the Garden District. First, on Friday, September 8 The Super Mario Bros. movie will be screened as part of Movie in the Garden. Taking place at 6th and Norwich, the screening is free and open to the public and will begin at approximately 7:30 p.m. Those attending are encouraged to bring their own chair or blanket. Free popcorn and lemonade will be provided while supplies last.

Then on Saturday, September 9 the Garden District Neighborhood Rummage will return and take place from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. at 6th and Norwich. More than two dozen vendors will have a wide variety of goods on sale during the event.

“The Garden District Neighborhood Association does a fantastic job organizing events that are inclusive for people of all ages, including events like this weekend’s movie screening and rummage sale,” said Alderman Spiker. “I hope residents take advantage of these opportunities to connect with neighbors, enjoy the outdoors and experience all our district has to offer.”
