The Mount Mary University Blue Angel athletic teams have been accepted as full-time members of the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC). This announcement follows the university’s acceptance into the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) during the 2025-26 season.

“We are excited about the opportunities the NAIA and now the CCAC will provide our student-athletes,” said Natalie Balleto, director of Athletics. “Mount Mary will work hard to positively represent these organizations.”

“The university is very enthusiastic about joining the CCAC,” added Mount Mary University president Isabelle Cherney, Ph.D. “This new venture promises to significantly enhance the student experience through collegiate competition with neighboring universities that share our values and uphold similar missions.”

In addition, the transition to NAIA and CCAC affiliation will open opportunities for athletic scholarship money, allowing the university to raise the profile of the athletic program. Seven of the conference’s participating schools are located in northern Illinois; Mount Mary University will be the second Wisconsin institution to join.

MMU will retain their current affiliations with NCAA Division 3 and the Coast-to-Coast conference through the completion of the 2024-2025 seasons.
