Knight and samurai armor
Plate armor (background) was primarily used from the 13th -17th centuries in Europe. The dou (foreground) was worn by samurai in feudal Japan between the 16th and 19th centuries. The sendai (five solid plates) style, allowed for more movement than European armor. Photo by Matthew Wooten/Milwaukee Public Museum.
