Milwaukee Police Department Officer Involved Shooting
MILWAUKEE, WI – Today, Friday, August 25, 2023, at approximately 11:55 a.m., Milwaukee Police District Two FBI Task Force officers were on the 7000 block of North Port Washington Road in Glendale, Wisconsin. Officers had knowledge that a suspect with multiple outstanding violent felony warrants was in the vicinity.
Upon arrival, officers observed the wanted suspect with two other individuals exit a hotel. The suspect and the individuals entered a vehicle as officers approached and attempted to make contact. The suspects attempted to flee in their vehicle, struck a Milwaukee Police Officer and pinned him against an unmarked police truck. The officer discharged his firearm, striking two suspects. The third suspect fled on foot but was apprehended. A firearm was recovered. No other law enforcement officers discharged their firearms.
The injured suspects, a 20-year-old male and an 18-year-old male, were transported to a local hospital for treatment of non-fatal injuries and were arrested. The third suspect, a 19-year-old male, was also arrested.
The officer that discharged his firearm is a 31-year-old male with over five years of service. He was taken to the hospital for treatment of non-fatal injuries. He will be placed on administrative duty as is routine in officer involved incidents.
This incident will be investigated by the Milwaukee Police Department and the District Attorney’s Office will provide oversight. Criminal charges will be referred to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office in the coming days.
