By - Apr 26th, 2023 05:05 pm

MILWAUKEE, WI – The Milwaukee Police Department (MPD) is aware of an alleged internal memo that was leaked to the public. The alleged memo states, “the inevitable closure of District Six.” MPD did not provide staff with an official memo regarding the potential closure of District Six. We are investigating the origins of this memo.

On Monday, April 24, 2023, during the Steering and Rules Committee hearing, MPD as well as other city departments, presented possible examples of what our department would look like if cuts up to 25% were made.

MPD is committed to working with our community and system partners to help build sustainable healthy neighborhoods, free of crime and maintained by positive relationships.
