Milwaukee Downtown names its 2022 Downtown Achievement Award winners

MILWAUKEE (Oct. 17, 2022) – Milwaukee Downtown, BID #21 hosted its Downtown Achievement Awards program on Oct. 13 as part of its 2022 annual meeting. Over 250 downtown stakeholders gathered to hear accomplishments and upcoming initiatives, as well as celebrate Milwaukee Downtown’s 25th year of operation.

The program began with the organization’s highlights over a quarter century followed by the awards ceremony. More than one dozen projects and downtown leaders were honored for their contributions to the central business district. Winners of the 2022 Downtown Achievement Awards included:

3rd Street Market Hall, winner of the Downtown Attraction Award, for creating an appealing destination for new guests downtown, food and beverage opportunities to emerging restaurants, and entertainment options for visitors of all ages.

VISIT Milwaukee, winner of the Downtown Partner Award, for embodying Milwaukee Downtown’s mission to build Downtown Milwaukee into a thriving, sustainable, innovative and vibrant heart of the community.

Bradley Symphony Center, winner of the CPR Award, for breathing new life into our city with the restoration of the historic 1931-built Grand Warner Theater as the new home of the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra.

Old World Third Street Entertainment District, winner of the Night Owl Award, for making Downtown Milwaukee a destination and enlivening the nighttime scene by greeting locals and visitors year-round with warmth and charm.

Milwaukee Tool, winner of the Leading Edge Award, for providing bold and steadfast leadership, and recognizing the competitive advantages of doing business downtown.

MGIC, winner of the Public Space Activation Award, for recognizing the value of Downtown Milwaukee’s public spaces in fostering community and making Red Arrow Park a vibrant civic space year-round.

PNC, winner of the Arts & Culture Champion Award, for heroically uplifting our city’s abundant cultural scene and championing the arts in our community.

Johnson Financial Group, winner of the Illuminating Community Award, for their enthusiasm in building community and introducing new guests to Downtown Milwaukee.

Roger Huffman and the Milwaukee Rowing Club, winners of the Youth and Environment Award, for fostering opportunities to help our young people grow and showcasing the Milwaukee River, one of Downtown Milwaukee’s most valuable assets.

Kinn Guesthouse Downtown Milwaukee, winner of the Hospitality Award, for creating unique and memorable spaces for downtown guests to stay.

Westown Association and its Night Market, winner of the Heart of the Community Award, for bringing vibrant activity to downtown and celebrating diversity along its major thoroughfare, Wisconsin Avenue.

East Town Association, winner of the Heart of the Community Award, for the return of a slew of signature events, including “Jazz in the Park,” and Bastille Days, along with reinvigorating Cathedral Square Park.

BMO Tower, winner of the Brick and Mortar Award, for being one of Downtown Milwaukee’s newest high-rises and offering an unparalleled work environment in the heart of our city.

Madison Medical Affiliates, winner of the Downtown Believer Award, for appreciating opportunities to make good things happen and implementing ideas to improve Downtown Milwaukee’s quality of life.

Colliers, winner of the Downtown Champion Award, for recognizing Downtown Milwaukee’s full potential and serving as a loyal advocate for it.
