Milwaukee Community Sailing Center Launches ‘SailVenture’
Two-Night Program Offers Sampler Sailing Adventure
The Milwaukee Community Sailing Center announced today a new opportunity for people to give sailing a try: SailVenture. The program offers a two-night session to try out sailing with no commitment. For $110, SailVenture gives an on-land overview of sailing in the beautiful Milwaukee Community Sailing Center facilities, and as much time on the water with an experienced sailor in one of the center’s sturdy ensign sailboats as weather permits.
“Our mission is to provide people of all means and abilities access to Lake Michigan through the sport of sailing,” said Karen Hunt, Milwaukee Community Sailing Center Executive Director. “We wanted to give people a chance to try a mini-adventure and see how easy and affordable it can be to sail in Milwaukee.”
SailVenture offers 2-night sessions from 5:30-8:30p.m. throughout June, advanced registration is required. There is no commitment beyond the $110 fee, and if after the SailVenture sampler a person decides to keep on sailing, the fee is applied towards a full Milwaukee Community Sailing Center Membership, offering access to sailboats (after completing a full sailing course.)
SailVenture sessions are: June 19 & 20; June 21 & 22; June 26 & 27; June 28 & 29.
