Milwaukee Candle Company Launches Lavender Menace Fundraiser Candle for Pride Month

Milwaukee, WI – May 20, 2024 – Milwaukee Candle Company is excited to announce the launch of its newest product, the Lavender Menace candle, in celebration of Pride Month. This special edition candle, created in collaboration with local queer artist Jaiden Brink (Jai), will make its debut at the Bay View Gallery Night on May 31 at Tease Salon, an LGBTQ-owned business in Milwaukee.

In a show of support for the local LGBTQ+ community, Milwaukee Candle Company will donate $6 from each Lavender Menace candle purchase to the Milwaukee LGBTQ+ Community Center. The Center is currently raising funds during a $25,000 match period to maintain operations in their current facility, ensuring they can continue to provide vital services to the community.

“We believe in the mission of the Milwaukee LGBTQ+ Community Center and are committed to supporting their efforts to maintain their operations and expand their impact,” said Wes, Operations Manager of Milwaukee Candle Company and member of the LGBTQ+ community. “Lavender Menace is more than just a candle; it’s a symbol of our dedication to inclusivity, creativity, and community support.”

Attendees of the Bay View Gallery Night will have the first opportunity to purchase the Lavender Menace candle and meet artist Jai, who will be present to discuss the inspiration behind the candle’s design and sell their artwork. The event promises a night of art, community, and celebration, all in support of a meaningful cause. We will be selling the candles and artwork at Tease Salon in Bay View on May 31 from 5:00-9:00 pm. The candles will then be available on Jun 1, 2024 at www.milwaukeecandle.com.

The Lavender Menace candle features a soothing lavender scent with top notes of black pepper and grapefruit. It serves as a tribute to the original Lavender Menace, a group of lesbian feminists who fought for inclusion within the feminist movement in the 1970s.
