Milwaukee Brewers Reveal “South Side En La Hora Magica” Community Mural on South Side of Milwaukee
New Mural on the Side of Local Business, Paleteria Yayo, Celebrates Latin Culture in Milwaukee
MILWAUKEE – On Wednesday, May 20, the Milwaukee Brewers along with District 12 Alderman José G. Pérez, Commissioner of City Development Lafayette Crump, owner of Luna Creative Collaborations Katie Avila Loughmiller, co-owners of Paleteria Yayo Rene Adan and Galy Montes and local artists Aisha Valentín and Whitney Salgado will debut the first community mural of the year, celebrating Latin culture and Cerveceros in the city of Milwaukee. The mural will be featured on the side of Paleteria Yayo, a Mexican-style ice cream and popsicle shop located at 1727 W. Lincoln Ave, Milwaukee.
As the Brewers expand the community mural program across Wisconsin, the new South Side piece, titled South Side en la Hora Magica celebrates Milwaukee’s spirit and connection to the team. Featuring sunset tones, it depicts the beloved Paletero, pushing his cart and selling sweet frozen treats to kids, with American Family Field in the background. Created by Aisha Valentín and Whitney Salgado in partnership with Luna Creative Collaborations, the mural celebrates Latin culture while reflecting the strength and vibrancy of the local community.
