This summer, the Milwaukee Art Museum is bringing creativity and ingenuity into the community with Kohl’s Color Wheels! A mobile art experience perfect for the whole family, the Kohl’s Color Wheels van will make appearances at community festivals throughout the summer.
At the Kohl’s Color Wheels stops, there will be a variety of hands-on, engaging art projects inspired by the Museum’s Collection and special exhibition Kandinsky: A Retrospective. Children and families can paint plein air (open air) paintings of the festivals, make mixed media pieces of art, create colorful, collaged buttons and much more. They can even contribute their own abstract designs to a large-scale community mural!
Families are also encouraged to visit the Museum this summer and stop by the Kohl’s Education Center—a fun, interactive space designed to give kids an appreciation for art through participation in exciting, creative, hands-on projects. Part of the Kohl’s Art Generation program, this space and Kohl’s Color Wheels are made possible through a more than $6.4 million commitment from Kohl’s Cares to the Milwaukee Art Museum. There’s always something for families to do at the Museum, and kids 12 and under are free!
