Midwest Shoe Merchants Announces Leadership Transition and Strengthened Governance Structure

GREATER MILWAUKEE, Wis. — Midwest Shoe Merchants, a third-generation family-owned business since 1950, operates Stan’s Shoes, Goodmiles Running Company, The Vionic Store by Stan’s and Waxberg’s Walk Shoppe. Today, the company announced a series of leadership and governance updates as part of its long-term succession planning, reinforcing the company’s commitment to sustained growth beyond its third generation.
The company has made the executive decision to expand its Board of Directors to include both family members and external advisors who bring additional expertise and perspective. Jim Sajdak, Majority Owner, will continue to serve as Chair of the Board, and Susan Sajdak will remain as Vice Chair. Jim and Susan have played a pivotal role in shaping Midwest Shoe Merchants, driving its vision, development, and growth. Their son, Andy Sajdak, will also remain on the board, while stepping down from his current position as Director of Operations to pursue opportunities outside the company.

This third-generation leadership team is also serving on the Board of Directors and working closely with the rest of the Board as well as the staff at its seven stores to guide the company’s continued growth and strategic direction. Day-to-day operations at each of the stores will remain unchanged, with a continued focus on supporting its strong team of employees and delivering exceptional service to customers.
