MILWAUKEE, WI – May 12, 2022 – This Teacher Appreciation Week, Lou Malnati’s Pizzeria is thrilled to honor six Milwaukee area teachers for their hard work and dedication. For a two-week period last month, students K-12 in the Milwaukee area nominated their favorite teachers through an online form to win delicious pizza prizes. Of more than 200 submissions, the Lou Malnati’s Pizzeria team today announced one grand prize winner along with five honorable mentions.

The grand prize winner of the Lou Malnati’s Teacher Appreciation week contest is special education teacher Mary Pham from Parkway Elementary School in Glendale, nominated by the family of student Lawrence (LJ) Wendel. Mary is being awarded with a $500 Lou Malnati’s gift card and a pizza party for Mary and her colleagues to enjoy. According to the nomination: “Mary has changed LJ’s life as he is special needs and adapting to a new school. She picks him up daily from the bus to help him to his classroom so he can ride the big bus with his brothers. She sends us pictures of his progress and calls to check on him and make sure he is ok. She is amazing and we are so blessed to have her in LJ’s life.”

Additionally, five honorable mentions were chosen to receive a $100 Lou Malnati’s gift card along with a special gift basket. Lou Malnati’s is proud to recognize these amazing Milwaukee teachers who are making a difference:

  • Jenna Zieman, marketing and business teacher at Wisconsin Hills Middle School
  • Ann Grambow, 1st grade teacher at Stormonth Elementary School
  • Kong Xiong, 6th grade history and social studies teacher at Greendale Middle School
  • Ike Bradley 5th grade teacher at Forest Ridge Elementary
  • Michael Fox, special education teacher at Horning Middle School

Prizes will be awarded individually to the six winning teachers throughout this week to celebrate Teacher Appreciation Week.

The Lou Malnati’s was blown away by the number of entries received and the thoughtfulness of the nominations. As such, the local Lou’s team is putting together a small thank you that each nominator and nominee will receive via email in the coming days.
