Local talent and big trucks to be on display at Bronzeville Cultural & Arts Festival
The grounds for the Bronzeville Cultural & Arts Festival on Sunday (August 6) will be alive with music and festive sights and sounds, and that includes three stages with top local talent keeping festival attendees dancing and mesmerized, all while having fun.
The always dynamic and ever-evolving free festival will run from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday on W. North Ave. between N. Dr. Martin Luther King Dr. and N. 7th St., and will feature three stages (Main, Gospel, Jazz & Blues and Youth) with multifaceted live performances (see full list of stage lineups below).
“If you enjoy amazing live music and great vibes, then do yourself a favor and come down on Sunday to the Bronzeville Cultural & Arts Festival,” the alderwoman said.
New to the festival this year will be the Big Trucks – Bronzeville Week Edition – taking place near 7th and North. Coming off the huge success of the 2nd annual Big Trucks event in May downtown, Sunday’s showcase will feature trucks used by the Department of Public Works and the Milwaukee Fire Department.
“City personnel will be on hand to show off the big trucks and equipment, and children will have the opportunity to get inside vehicles and imagine what it would be like to operate them. So much fun for families and those who appreciate big trucks,” Alderwoman Coggs said.
Hosted by Alderwoman Milele A. Coggs, the 2023 Bronzeville Week (August 5 – 12) events will include healthy, positive and family-friendly activities infused with art, culture and commerce.
