Milwaukee, WI (November 13, 2023)-  Legal Action of Wisconsin is proud to announce the appointment of Larry Dupuis as our next Director of Litigation and Advocacy. Attorney Dupuis brings a wealth of legal experience and a deep commitment to civil rights, equity, and advocacy to our organization.

As the former Legal Director of the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) of Wisconsin, Attorney Dupuis provided exemplary leadership and coordination of the ACLU’s litigation program. He represented clients in impactful cases in state and federal courts, tirelessly working to protect and advance civil rights and liberties for marginalized groups. His extensive legal career has also included time at Legal Action, serving first as a Skadden Fellow and then as a staff attorney, where he represented low-income clients in various civil legal matters, and serving on our Board of Directors. His enduring familiarity with our organization’s work and his impressive track record of advocating for historically excluded individuals in our legal system make him an ideal addition to the Legal Action team.

Deedee Peterson, Executive Director of Legal Action of Wisconsin, expressed her excitement about Attorney Dupuis joining the organization, saying, “We are thrilled to welcome Larry Dupuis as our Director of Litigation and Advocacy. His track record of providing exceptional legal services and championing civil rights, combined with his dedication to justice and equity, aligns perfectly with our mission. We look forward to his leadership and the positive impact he will have on our clients and communities.”

In addition to his legal work, Attorney Dupuis has a history of community involvement, including serving on the board of various organizations and receiving several prestigious awards for his commitment to public service and civil rights.

Please join us in welcoming Larry Dupuis to Legal Action of Wisconsin as our new Director of Litigation and Advocacy. His expertise and dedication will undoubtedly enhance our organization’s ability to serve our community.
