New Berlin, WI — Six months after opening, La Segunda, a Latina- and woman-owned thrift consignment store, is gaining momentum as a local resource for families looking to earn extra income and shop affordably through resale.

Since opening, La Segunda has welcomed a growing number of community members who are consigning their gently used clothing and home goods, turning unused items into income while reducing waste.

“We’re seeing families really embrace the idea that the things sitting in their closets can have value,” said owner Cinthia Hernandez-Her. “For many, it’s not just about decluttering, it’s about creating an extra stream of income while being more intentional about spending.”

The store offers women’s, men’s, and children’s clothing, along with select home goods, and operates with a focus on sustainability and community participation.

La Segunda has recently been featured on TMJ4 and Telemundo Wisconsin, highlighting its role in supporting local families and promoting a circular economy.

As economic pressures continue to impact households, La Segunda provides a practical solution like helping families stretch their budgets while keeping quality items in circulation.
