MILWAUKEE (FEBRUARY 24th, 2026) – Spelling Bee Showdown is a new twist on the standard spelling bee competition, with a dash of trivia, cooked up by the creative minds at Lakefront Brewery! Bring your Scrabble expert friends to Lakefront Brewery on Monday, March 9th at 6:30pm to test your collective spelling mastery against other skilled teams for a chance to win Lakefront gift cards. Winners of 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place will receive $50, $25, and $15 gift cards respectively.

Lakefront Brewery will be using their Spelling Bee Showdown to raise funds and supplies for Milwaukee Public Schools. Utilizing DonorsChoose, Lakefront will fulfill monetary goals and physical requests made by local teachers in the community for their classrooms. The brewery will be donating 10% of food and beverage sales from the day and offering guest donation opportunities to the Milwaukee Public School Foundation during the week of the event. They are also encouraging guests to bring in new or gently-used school supplies that will be hand-delivered locally.

“We hosted a Spelling Bee last year to help raise funds for Riverwest Elementary’s new playground”, says Liz Mauritz, Lakefront’s Ripple Effect donation program coordinator. “We’re elated to have paved the way for its return in this fresh format, giving back to our local educators and their students. Our award-winning Lakefront Trivia host, Justin, will present this game as well, so you’ll be in great hands”.

Limited reservations are available and highly recommended to ensure a table for your team. Click HERE to make a reservation between 5:30pm and 6:30pm, ahead of the showdown kicking off at 6:30pm sharp. Lakefront Brewery Beer Hall will remain open to the public and seating is first come, first served without a reservation. Lakefront hopes to continue this event year-round, supporting local public schools as often as possible.
