Lakefront Brewery Announces Their Black Friday™ Event is Nearly Here!

MILWAUKEE (November 21, 2022) – The anticipated Black Friday™ beer release at Lakefront Brewery is upon us. And like other years, the Imperial Stout and its variants will be limited to the more than one thousand fans in line. Lakefront’s Curdwagon food truck will be on hand and open for breakfast at 4:30am. Black Friday™ gear will be sold as well, including a beanie, shirt, blanket, snifter, and bottle opener.

“This year features 4 different Black Friday™ beers,” said Lakefront Brand Manager, Michael Stodola. “Tasting each of them has been a special experience. And each of them is on point as our Brewers have dialed in our barrel-aging game.”

The four different Black Friday™ beers available for purchase are:

2022 Black Friday™ Imperial Stout – Smooth, round, and deep. Although this year’s gold-standard is 14% abv, this liquid is not hot. It’s exactly what is expected of a big, barrel-aged stout: the bourbon barrels combine massive caramel and roasted malts with huge vanilla and oak flavor. Less than 3,500 bottles available. $20 each.

2022 Double Barrel Black Friday™ – This barleywine has been aged in both bourbon and rye barrels from Great Lakes Distillery. It’s been described as the “best barrel-aged beer,” and you’ll see why. With flavors of caramel, brown sugar, vanilla, almond and oak, this Barleywine is worthy of the Black Friday name. The abv boasts a solid 16.3%. Less than 1,000 bottles available. $30 each.

2022 5-Year-Old Black Friday™ – Kept in rye barrels since 2017, the big, roasty, chocolatey Imperial Stout left all traces of alcohol heat in the barrel and picked up flavors of vanilla, toasted pecan, marzipan, and a touch of sherry. 14.4 abv. Less than 1,000 bottles available. $30 each.

2022 Black Friday™ Christmas Cookie – A big, chewy Imperial Stout with vanilla, cinnamon and honey, then aged in Rum Barrels. Chocolatey and roasty flavors pick up molasses, oak plank and spice from the rum barrels. You can actually experience the flavor of a gingerbread cookie with sweet icing. 12.6% abv. Less than 1,000 bottles available. $20 each.

Black Friday fans will be limited to 16 bottles of the Imperial Stout, and 8 bottles of the variations.

“Once again, we’re inviting everyone to come on down and enjoy the camaraderie, and the beer, of course,” says Lakefront Brewery Founder and President, Russ Klisch. “The weather looks good and the beer is exceptional.”

Fans can line up as early as the night before and the doors will open at 8:00am on Friday. But after bottle purchase, the party will be outside. “We’ve got construction happening in the Beer Hall, and capacity has been cut down,” said Stodola. “And we’re still concerned with Covid, so the party will continue outside with food, gear, and Lakefront beer being sold – and over a thousand close friends.”
