Lake Express Ferry Conducting Annual Earth Week Bike Drive

MILWAUKEE – The Lake Express Ferry is supporting bicycle charities in celebration of Earth Week and “green” travel options with its annual bike drive this Friday, April 26th from 8:30 to noon at the Lake Express Terminal, 2330 S. Lincoln Memorial Drive.

Lake Express will provide a complimentary round-trip passenger ticket to the first 500 donors who bring in a gently used bicycle to the Lake Express terminal. Donations will benefit programs supported by the Sixteenth Street Health Center and the Milwaukee Bicycle Collective.

Since 2010, Lake Express has collected and distributed more than 5,000 bicycles to programs in Milwaukee, Madison, Chicago and internationally.

Donors can deliver a gently used bicycle on Friday,  April 26th to the Lake Express Ferry terminal. There is a limit of one certificate per household. Donors will receive a certificate by mail, redeemable for one round-trip classic cabin ticket, a $161 value. Certificates carry no cash value, may not be substituted for other products and will be issued under the name of the donor. Also, the certificates are valid for only the named donor and are nontransferable.
