Last week, several individuals were arrested in Madison as part of an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) operation, and this came on the heels of additional ICE arrests in Manitowoc County.
We want to remind our residents that, in these instances, that they have rights and should be prepared.
·You have the right to remain silent
·Utilize virtual/online options for appointments, when available
·You have the right not to sign any document you do not understand
·You have the right not to open your door unless presented with a warrant signed by a judge
·In the event of an arrest or detention, you have the right to request a lawyer
