Kids In the Hall’s Kevin McDonald at Mojo Dojo Comedy

This October, Mojo Dojo Comedy is honored to welcome to Milwaukee internationally-known comedian Kevin McDonald of the influential sketch comedy group The Kids in the Hall.

Comedians in the area will have a chance to learn from a comedy legend as McDonald teaches a two-day intensive workshop, held Saturday, October 6 and Sunday, October 7 at the Mojo Dojo Conservatory (111 E. Mitchell Street in Clock Tower Acres). In the Kevin McDonald Sketch Workshop, McDonald will teach you the same improv methods used by the Kids in the Hall as writing tools to develop sketches. A limited number of spots are available for this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

Saturday night, McDonald will also perform with Canton, an all-star team of improvisers from across the country. In addition to a stand-up comedy set, McDonald will join Canton for an unforgettable night of longform improv.

“I was fortunate enough to take Kevin’s workshop a few years ago, and it was a really positive, informative experience for me,” says Lee Rowley, the Education Director for Mojo Dojo Comedy. “We’re excited to share that opportunity with the comedy community in Milwaukee. Getting to play with him is just icing on the cake.”

In addition his work with Kids in the Hall, McDonald is best known for his role as Pastor Dave on “That ’70s Show,” along with many notable voice acting roles in shows like “Lilo & Stitch” and “Invader Zim.”
Mojo Dojo Comedy is the home of longform improv in Milwaukee. They perform live shows every weekend in the 50-seat theater of Urban Harvest Brewing Company. At their Conservatory space in Clock Tower Acres, they also hold regular improv lessons, workshops, and Open Dojo, a free weekly chance for anyone to try longform improv for free.

The Kevin McDonald Sketch Workshop will be held Saturday, October 6th and Sunday, October 7th. The workshop runs from 10:00am to 5:30pm each day. Registration for the workshop is $300, and only a few spots remain. You can register online at https://www.mojodojocomedy.com/lessons
